How do I show my collections on the home page or the collections page?

Show your collections (categories) as cards with the Collections section on the home page or the all collections page: custom order, newest, best selling, top rated, or alphabetical, grid, carousel, or bento layout, collections count, and sub collection links.

3 min read

The Collections section shows your collections as cards with an image and a name, so shoppers can jump into a category.

Where you can add it

It is offered on two pages, one per page:

  • Home page: a showcase of your main collections.
  • Collections page (example.com/collections): the list of all your collections. This page starts with a Collections section that shows them all.

In the builder, open the page, click Add new section in the Sections tab, and pick Collections from the Products group.

Which collections show

The section shows your top level collections that are published and not hidden. A sub collection never gets a card of its own here. You create, nest, and order collections in Collections, see How do I organize products into collections?

  • Source mode: the order of the cards. Custom order follows the order you set by dragging in Collections. You can also pick Newest, Oldest, Best selling (most units sold), Top rated (highest average review of their products, collections without reviews come last), Alphabetical, or Reverse alphabetical.
  • Lookback period: for Best selling and Top rated only. All time, or only the orders or reviews of the Last 7 days, Last 15 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or Last 180 days.
  • Collections count: 4, 6, 8, 12, or All. Use All on the collections page.
  • Sub collections: lists the sub collections of each collection as links under its name.

Layout

  • Layout: Grid, Carousel, or Bento (large and small cards mixed). On phones, Bento becomes a normal grid.
  • Columns: cards per row on computers, or cards in view for a carousel. Hidden for Bento.
  • Mobile columns (1 or 2) and Carousel on mobile (turns the grid into a carousel on phones).
  • Navigation icons and Icon background: the arrows of a carousel.
  • Section width, Color scheme, Gap, Padding, and a Custom CSS tab.

Title and cards

Add up to 2 Text blocks, 1 Divider, and 1 Group above or below the cards with Add new block. The Collection card block is always there and sets how each card looks: text below or on the image, the image shape, the title, the product count, and an optional button. See How do I change how product cards and collection cards look?

Recipes

  • Shop by category on the home page: Custom order, Collections count 4 or 6, Grid with 3 or 4 Columns.
  • Full catalogue page: on the collections page, Collections count All with Sub collections on.
  • Trending categories: Best selling with Lookback period Last 30 days.

Good to know

  • A collection is missing? Check that it is published, not hidden, and a top level collection. Sub collections show as links (with Sub collections on), or as cards on the collection page with the Sub collections section.
  • Collections belong to one market, so each market shows its own collections.
  • With no collection to show, shoppers see "No collections yet".
