Automator is an app you install from the Apps market. It watches your store for abandoned orders (checkouts that were started but never completed) and automatically changes their status to Pending after a time period you choose, then forwards them to all connected services and apps so your team can follow up. Go to Apps, find Automator in the Utilities & Enhancements collection, install it, then click the gear icon to configure it.
What Automator does
When a customer starts checkout but does not complete it, the order is recorded as Abandoned. Automator monitors these carts and, once the recovery time you set has elapsed, changes the status to Pending and triggers all connected integrations, such as call-centre apps (PrimeCOD, Afrique COD, COD Network, and others) or courier apps, so your team can reach out to the customer.
Opening Automator settings
After installation, go to Apps and click the gear icon next to Automator to open its settings screen.
Auto changer abandoned orders
The Auto changer abandoned orders toggle enables or disables the feature entirely. When turned on, Storeep describes the current configuration inline: "Once auto changer is activated, any abandoned cart or order will be automatically changed to pending status after [N] minutes, and sent to all connected services and apps, if any are available." The number of minutes shown reflects the current slider value.
Recovery time
The Recovery time slider sets how long Automator waits after an order is abandoned before converting it to pending. The slider ranges from 10 to 60 minutes, with a default of 20 minutes. A tip on screen reads: "Allow customers sufficient time to complete their purchase naturally. Setting this time too short may interrupt active checkouts."
Saving
Click Save. A success message confirms the update. If the value falls outside the 10–60 minute range, an inline validation error is shown.
Interaction with Google Sheets
The Google Sheets app can be configured to receive only abandoned orders. For this to work in real time, Automator must be installed and the auto changer must be turned on. See Sync orders to Google Sheets for details.
Notes
- Automator only processes orders that are genuinely abandoned. It does not affect orders that were already pending or confirmed.
- If no connected services or apps are installed, Automator still changes the status to pending, but it has nothing to forward the order to.
- Turning off the toggle stops the auto changer but does not reverse any status changes that have already been made.
