Automator is an app you install from the Apps market. It watches your store for abandoned orders (checkouts a customer started but never finished) and, after a delay you choose, automatically changes their status from Abandoned to Pending and forwards them to every connected service or app so your team can follow up and recover the sale.
What Automator does
When a customer fills in checkout but does not complete the order, Storeep records it as Abandoned. Automator monitors these orders and, once your recovery time has passed, it:
- Changes the order status to Pending so it appears in your normal orders workflow.
- Fires an order event to all connected integrations (call center apps, courier apps, Google Sheets, webhooks, and pixels), exactly as a freshly placed order would.
The forwarded order keeps an "abandoned" flag, so apps that distinguish completed orders from recovered ones still know its origin.
Installing Automator
- Open Apps in your dashboard.
- Find Automator in the apps market and click it.
- Click Install.

After installation, go back to Apps and click the gear icon on the Automator card to open its settings.
Auto changer abandoned orders
The Auto changer abandoned orders toggle turns the whole feature on or off. When it is on, Storeep shows the live configuration inline: "Once auto changer is activated, any abandoned cart or order will be automatically changed to pending status after [N] minutes, and sent to all connected services and apps, if any are available." The [N] reflects your current Recovery time. When the toggle is off, no abandoned order is touched.
Recovery time
The Recovery time slider sets how many minutes Automator waits after an order is abandoned before converting it to pending.
- Range: 10 to 60 minutes.
- Default: 20 minutes.
On screen you will see this tip: "Allow customers sufficient time to complete their purchase naturally. Setting this time too short may interrupt active checkouts." A short value recovers orders faster but risks pinging customers who are still actively checking out, so 20 minutes is a safe starting point.
Saving your settings
Click Save. A confirmation message ("Automator has been updated successfully") appears. If you somehow submit a value below 10 or above 60, Storeep rejects it with an inline error on the recovery time field instead of saving.
How and when orders are converted
Storeep runs the auto changer continuously in the background, so you do not trigger anything manually. An abandoned order becomes pending only when both conditions are true:
- It is older than your recovery time (for example, more than 20 minutes since it was abandoned).
- It is still within one hour of being abandoned.
This one hour ceiling is important: orders that were abandoned more than 60 minutes ago are never auto-converted, no matter your recovery time. Because the maximum recovery time is 60 minutes, set it lower if you want a comfortable window for orders to actually be processed. Each order is converted only once, then it follows your normal pending workflow.
Billing and plans
A recovered order counts the same as any other order on your plan. When it flips to pending, it counts toward your plan's monthly sales and is subject to the same transaction fee as a normally placed order. It is marked as fee-paid at that moment, so it is not charged again later.
Per-market behavior
Automator is a single store-wide setting. The same toggle and the same recovery time apply to abandoned orders from every market. There is no separate timer per country or per market. The forwarded order still carries its own market, so market-aware apps receive the correct destination.
Working with Google Sheets
The Google Sheets app can be set to log Only abandoned orders. For abandoned orders to reach the sheet automatically, Automator must be installed and the Auto changer abandoned orders toggle must be on. Once it is, recovered orders are written to your sheet in real time as they convert.
Things to know
- Automator only acts on orders whose status is still Abandoned. It never changes orders that are already pending, confirmed, or in any other status.
- Turning the toggle off stops future conversions but does not reverse orders that were already changed to pending.
- If you have no connected services or apps, Automator still changes the status to pending, but there is nothing to forward the order to.
- Deleted and hidden orders are ignored.
