Every product has a gallery of photos and videos at the top of the Product information tab. Customers see it on the product page, and the first item is the main picture in your product lists.
Adding photos and uploaded videos
- Open a product from Products, or add a new one.
- Click the add button in the media area. The Media Library opens.
- Click Click here to upload or drag and drop files from your computer or phone. You can also pick files you uploaded before.
- Select one or more files and confirm. They are added to the gallery.
- A product can have up to 10 photos and videos in total.
- At least one photo is required. A product with only videos cannot be saved.
- Photos: JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, or SVG. Videos: MP4 or WebM.
- After you upload a video, it is prepared for fast playback. You can select it once this is finished.
Adding a YouTube or TikTok video
Next to the upload button there is a button to add a video by link. Paste a YouTube link (normal videos and Shorts work) or a TikTok video link. Only YouTube and TikTok are supported. The same video cannot be added twice.
Order and main image
- Drag the items to change their order.
- The first item is the main image in product lists and cards. Put your best photo first.
- Click an item to zoom a photo or play an uploaded video. Use the remove button on an item to take it out of the product. The file stays in your media library.
Media library tips
- The library is shared by your whole store: products, variants, reviews, collections, pages, and the builder.
- Keeping files there does not slow your store. Only the files you use are loaded.
- Files that are not used anywhere are deleted automatically once they are older than 30 days.
- You cannot delete a file that is still used, for example in a product. The message tells you where it is used.
Common upload problems
- "File size must not exceed ... MB": the file is too big. Photos can be up to 5 MB and videos up to 25 MB. Compress the photo or shorten the video, or use a YouTube link for long videos.
- "Invalid file type": the format is not supported. Save the photo as JPEG, PNG, or WEBP, or the video as MP4.
- "Please add at least one image": add a photo, videos alone are not enough.
- "The images and videos must not exceed 10 items": remove some items first.
