This article covers two things: getting back orders you deleted, and following up on customers who started checkout but never placed their order.
Recovering deleted orders
When you delete a real order, you can restore it for 2 months. After that it is removed for good and cannot be recovered.
Deleting a real order never gives back its fee and does not lower the amount you owe. Recovering it does not charge the fee again.
These cannot be recovered at all:
- Test orders: deleting them is immediate and permanent.
- Orders removed with a customer: deleting a customer on the Customers page also deletes all of their orders for good. See How do I manage customers?.
Opening the recovery panel
- Open the Orders page.
- Click the round arrow icon at the top, next to the filter icon.
- The Recover deleted orders window opens with the Deleted orders list.
You need the Orders permission.
Reading the list
- Order: the order number, with the date and time it was deleted below it.
- Customer: the customer's name.
- Total: the order total and currency.
- Status: the status the order had when it was deleted.
The most recently deleted orders come first. To narrow the list, use Date range and click Show results. This filters by the date the order was deleted.
Recovering
- One order: click Recover the order on its row.
- Several orders: tick them and choose Recover orders from the menu above the list.
The order comes back exactly as it was, with the same status, items, total and customer details.
Following up on abandoned carts
When a shopper fills in their details at checkout but does not place the order, Storeep saves it with the Abandoned status, so you keep the lead. Filter your orders by Abandoned to see them.
To follow up by hand, open the order and call the customer with the link on their phone number, or message them on WhatsApp. If they confirm, change the status to Pending or Confirmed.
To do it automatically, install the Automator app. It moves abandoned carts to Pending after a delay you choose and sends them to your connected apps, such as your call center, courier or Google Sheets. See Automator: how do I recover abandoned orders automatically?.
