Ameex: how do I send my Moroccan orders automatically?

Connect the Ameex app with the API ID and API key from your Ameex developer page, and every Morocco order you confirm becomes an Ameex parcel with the right city and the amount to collect.

What Ameex is for

Ameex is a cash on delivery (COD) delivery company in Morocco. With the app installed, each order from your Morocco market becomes an Ameex parcel the moment you change its status to Confirmed. Orders from other markets are never sent.

Connect Ameex

  1. Install Ameex from Apps and open it.
  2. In your Ameex account, open the developer page. In the Connection tab, copy the API Id into API ID and your key into API key. A key that starts with test_ only creates practice parcels in the Ameex sandbox, so use your live key to ship real orders.
  3. Keep Activate on and click Save. Storeep checks the keys with Ameex right away and tells you if they are wrong.
  4. In the Webhook tab, click Send test parcel. Storeep creates one parcel named TEST STOREEP - NE PAS RAMASSER worth 1 MAD in your Ameex account, so you can see it arrive. Delete it in Ameex before a pickup.

Send an order from the order page

You do not have to confirm an order first. Open any order from your Morocco market and go to its Delivery tab: the Ameex card is there as long as the app is installed. Check the city, then click Send to Ameex. An order that is not confirmed yet is confirmed automatically once the parcel is created.

You can send an order that is Abandoned, Pending, Not reached, Confirmed, Prepared or in one of your own statuses. Any other order, for example a Shipped, Delivered or Cancelled one, shows Not sent with its status, since only orders that have not left yet can be sent.

Get delivery updates back

After the first save, the Webhook tab shows your Webhook URL. Copy it, then on the developer page of your Ameex account paste it as your webhook URL. On the same page, generate a webhook secret, paste it into Webhook secret in Storeep and click Save. Storeep ignores any update that is not signed with this secret, so statuses only start moving once it is saved.

Once the webhook is set, Storeep moves the order for you: picked up or on the way becomes Shipped, delivered becomes Delivered, no answer or postponed becomes Not reached, refused becomes Rejected and cancelled becomes Cancelled. An order never moves backwards, and an order you set to Done or Returned yourself is left alone. To stop these updates, remove the webhook in your Ameex account.

How the Ameex city is found

Ameex needs one of its own cities for every parcel. Storeep finds it from the city and address your buyer typed, in French, Arabic or common spellings like "casa" or "mrakch". When the city had to be guessed, the order page shows a Guessed tag. Ameex does not let other apps change a parcel once it exists, so to change its city, edit the parcel in your Ameex account.

When an order is not sent

Open the order: the Ameex section says why and lets you fix it.

  • City not found: pick the Ameex city and click Send to Ameex.
  • Phone not accepted: Ameex only delivers to Moroccan numbers. Edit the phone, then send the order.
  • No address: add an address, then send the order.
  • Refused by Ameex: hover the tag to read the reason Ameex gave, fix it, then send the order.
  • No answer: Ameex did not reply in time, so the parcel may or may not exist. Look for the order in your Ameex account before you send it again.

Confirming the same order again never creates a second parcel. If you delete a parcel in Ameex, the order page notices the next time you open it and lets you send the order again.

What Ameex receives

  • The buyer's name, phone, address and note.
  • The amount to collect, which is the order total minus anything already paid online.
  • Each product's name and quantity.
  • As the order number, your order number followed by the name of the person who confirmed or sent the order, for example 1042-Salma Bennani.
