What Recent orders does

Recent orders is a small popup in a bottom corner of your store. It shows real orders placed in your store, one at a time, to build trust. Each popup shows:

  • The first name of the buyer and their city.
  • The product they ordered, with its picture.
  • How long ago they ordered, for example 5 minutes ago, in your store language.

Visitors can click the popup to open the product. The section is marked Beta in the builder, so it may still change.

Add it to a page

  1. Open the builder and go to the page you want.
  2. In the Sections tab, click Add new section and pick Recent orders from the Marketing group.
  3. Set the timing and the position, then click Publish.

You can add one Recent orders popup per page. Each page keeps its own copy.

Which orders are shown

  • Only real orders of the market the visitor is shopping in, placed within your Look back period.
  • Test orders, abandoned orders, duplicated orders, suspicious orders and deleted orders never show.
  • Only the first name of the buyer is shown, never the full name, phone or address.
  • Only published products are shown.
  • The popup shows your latest orders, up to 10, and each one only once per page view. It never repeats them to look busier.

Nothing shows until your store has at least 3 orders in the chosen period. A store with very few orders stays silent instead of looking empty. A new order can take a few minutes to appear in the popup.

Where it never shows

The popup can only be added to the home, product, landing, collection, collections, and search pages, so buyers are not distracted on the cart, checkout, or thank you pages. When a visitor closes it with the close button, it stays closed on every page until they close the tab.

The settings

Timing

  • First popup after: seconds before the first order shows, from 3 to 60 (default 8).
  • Interval: seconds of pause between two orders, from 10 to 120 (default 20). Each order stays on screen for about 6 seconds.
  • Look back: how many hours back orders are taken from, from 24 to 168 hours (one week). The default is 48 hours. Older orders are never shown.

Layout

Position: Start or End. Start is the bottom left corner (bottom right for right to left languages like Arabic). End is the other bottom corner. Start is the default, so the popup does not cover a chat button or a back to top button in the other corner.

Appearance

Color scheme: the colors of the popup.

Preview it in the builder

In the builder, the popup shows while the section is selected, so you can style it. It shows your latest real order, or a sample (Customer, City, Product) if you have none yet.
