Store policies

Manage the five legal policy pages for each market: privacy policy, terms of service, refund policy, shipping policy, and cookie policy.

What store policies are

Policies are legal and informational pages that live on your storefront. Each market in your store has its own independent set of five policy pages, so you can comply with the legal requirements of different countries. Policies are managed per market.

  1. Go to Settings → Markets.
  2. Click the market you want to manage.
  3. Click the Policies card inside the market panel.

You will see a list of the five policy types for that market, each showing its current Published and Displayed in the footer status.

The five policy types

  • Privacy policy
  • Terms of service
  • Refund policy
  • Shipping policy
  • Cookie policy

Editing a policy

Click a policy row in the list to open the editor. The editor has the following fields:

Publish toggle

When enabled, the policy page becomes accessible to visitors who navigate directly to its URL. When disabled, visiting the URL will not show the page. The default is disabled (not published).

Display toggle

When enabled, a link to this policy appears in the footer of your storefront. The policy must also be published for the link to work. The default is disabled (not displayed).

Policy title

  • Required.
  • Maximum 255 characters.
  • This is the visible heading shown in the policies list and on the storefront page.

Policy content

A rich text editor where you write your policy text. Optional, but publishing a policy with no content is not advisable.

  • Formatting tools available: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, text alignment (left / center / right / justify), text sizes (Small / Normal / Large / Huge), bullet lists, ordered lists, blockquote, text colour, background colour, images, videos, and a format-clear tool.
  • Maximum content length: 30,000 characters.
  • Maximum images embedded in content: 15 images.
  • Scripts and interactive code are removed automatically for security.
  • External images pasted into the editor are imported to your Storeep media library automatically when you save.

SEO fields (per policy)

Each policy page has its own independent SEO settings, shown in a section at the bottom of the editor.

Page title (meta title)

  • Required.
  • Maximum 255 characters.
  • Displayed in browser tabs and search engine result headings.

Page description (meta description)

  • Optional.
  • Maximum 160 characters. A counter (0/160) is shown in the field.

Page keywords

  • Optional.
  • Maximum 255 characters total.
  • Only letters (Latin and Arabic), numbers, spaces, hyphens, and commas are accepted. Any other characters cause a validation error.
  • Type a keyword and press Enter to add it as a tag.

Visibility on search engines

Same as the store-wide indexing toggle but scoped to this policy page only. When disabled, a no-index directive applies to this policy's URL so it does not appear in search results.

SEO preview

Shows a live preview of how the policy will appear in a search engine result based on the current page title and description.

Saving

Click Save. Only the settings for the selected policy are updated. Other policies in the same market are not affected.

Important notes

  • Each market has its own independent copy of each policy. Editing the refund policy in your US market does not change the refund policy in your UK market.
  • A policy page is visible to visitors only when Publish is enabled. Enabling Display without enabling Publish will add the link to the footer, but clicking it will not show the page.
  • The policy URL is always based on the fixed policy type (for example, privacy-policy or refund-policy). Changing the title does not change the URL.
