What the Crisp app does

Crisp adds a live chat bubble to your store so visitors can message you while they shop, and you can answer them from your Crisp inbox. It is a free app in the Utilities and Enhancements tab of the Apps market. Crisp is a separate chat service, so you also need a Crisp account (from crisp.chat). You reply to chats in Crisp, not in Storeep.

Setting it up

  1. Create a Crisp account and a website in Crisp if you do not have one yet.
  2. In Crisp, open Settings, then Website settings, then Setup instructions, and copy your Website ID. The app settings have a link that takes you there.
  3. In Storeep, open Apps, find Crisp, and install it.
  4. Click Settings on its card.
  5. Paste your ID into Website ID.
  6. Pick a Chat position: Right or Left. Choose the side where the bubble does not cover other buttons on your store, such as a WhatsApp button or a sticky add to cart bar.
  7. Turn on Activate, then click Save.

Open your store in a new tab to see the chat bubble. It does not show inside the builder preview.

Settings

  • Activate: shows or hides the chat bubble on your store. Turn it off to pause chat without losing your settings.
  • Website ID: required, even while the app is off. If it is empty you see "Please enter the Website ID". If it is not a real Crisp Website ID you see "The Website ID you have entered is incorrect". Check that you copied the Website ID, not another code from Crisp.
  • Chat position: the side of the screen for the bubble.

What your visitors see

  • The chat bubble appears on every page of your store, on phones and computers.
  • The chat speaks your store's language.
  • The chat loads after your page is ready, so it does not slow down how fast your store opens.
  • Visitors you blocked (with Access control or a ban) and detected bots do not get the chat.

Knowing who you are talking to

After a customer places an order, their name, phone, email, and order number are shared with Crisp. In your Crisp inbox you then see a real customer with their order, instead of an unknown visitor. Visitors who have not ordered yet show as regular Crisp visitors.

Good to know

  • Crisp is set up per store. Repeat the setup in each store where you want chat.
  • Your Crisp plan and its features (such as how many team members can answer) are managed in your Crisp account.
  • Uninstalling the app removes the chat from your store and deletes its settings in Storeep.
  • If you would rather talk to buyers on WhatsApp, see WhatsApp Connect.
