How do I add, hide, require, rename, or reorder fields in my checkout form?

Edit your checkout form in the builder Checkout form tab: every field (name, phone, email, address, city, state, ZIP, note, shipping, payment, discount code), Disabled, Enabled, or Required, labels, placeholders, Select dropdowns for city and state, delivery areas, and field order.

The Checkout form tab controls the order form: which fields shoppers see, which they must fill, what each one is called, and their order. The same form is used by the checkout popup, the order form on product and landing pages, and the checkout page.

Where to find it

Open the builder, click the gear icon, and open the Checkout form tab. Each field has its own box. Drag a box by its handle to change the order on your form.

The fields

Fullname, Firstname, Lastname, Company, Gender (a choice list), Birthday (a date picker), Address, Address 2, National ID, Neighborhood, District, Apartment, Floor, ZIP code, City, State / Region, Commune, Province, Note and Gift message (larger text boxes), Email, Phone, WhatsApp, Link, Color (a color picker), Shipping (your shipping methods and prices), Payment (your payment methods), and Discount code.

Settings of each field

  • The choice at the top of the box: Disabled hides the field, Enabled shows it as optional, Required means the order cannot be sent without it. Required fields show a small red mark.
  • Label: the name shown with the field.
  • Placeholder: the light hint inside the empty field, for example "Enter phone here".

When Storeep has a list of places for the country of your market, these fields get a Type setting: Input (shoppers type freely) or Select (shoppers pick from a list). A Commune list follows the state the shopper picked. Without a list for that country, the field is always free text.

With Select, a Delivery areas row appears (it says All places, or how many are delivered or hidden). Open it to choose where you deliver: Untick the places you do not deliver to. Customers will not see them in the list. Use the search, Select all, and Clear all. Keep at least one place, or you cannot publish.

Shipping prices per state, province, or city need the matching field set to Select. See Shipping methods.

Rules to know

  • Email or Phone: one of them must stay Required, so you can always reach the buyer. Otherwise you see At least one contact method (email or phone) must remain enabled.
  • Email and digital products: even when disabled, Email is shown and required for digital products, because they are sent by email.
  • Payment needing email: Paystack needs the buyer's email. If Email is disabled, buyers cannot pay with Paystack. See Paystack.
  • Shipping: if disabled, the shopper does not choose and the order uses your first shipping method. Shipping and Payment are hidden when no method is available.
  • Name: an order keeps one name. If you ask for a first name and a last name, they are joined into one full name on the order. If your form also asks for the full name, the full name the buyer typed is used.
  • Discount code: only Disabled or Enabled, never required. Buyers type a code you created in Coupons. See Coupons.

Good to know

The form belongs to the market you are editing, so you can require a National ID in one market and hide it in another. Field style is in the Inputs settings. Changes go live when you click Publish.
