The Contact section is the main part of your contact page. Shoppers fill in a short form and their message is sent to your email. The section is required on the contact page.
Where to find it
Open the builder, choose Contact page in the Pages tab, and click the Contact section. Each market has its own contact page, so set it up in every market you sell in.
Where messages go
Type your address in Email ("Messages will be sent to this email"). It can be different from your account email, for example a support inbox. Without it, messages cannot be delivered.
Each message arrives with the subject "Contact:" followed by the subject the shopper typed. When you reply, your answer goes to the shopper's email address.
What shoppers fill in
The form has four fields, all required: Your name, Email address, Subject, and Message. The fields follow your input style from the builder settings.
Section settings
- Success message: the text shown after a message is sent, with a Preset for its size (Paragraph or Heading 1 to 6).
- Section width: Page or Full.
- Direction: Vertical stacks the blocks, Horizontal puts them side by side. With Horizontal, Stack vertically on mobile stacks them on phones.
- Position and Alignment: place the blocks, like in a group.
- Color scheme.
- Captcha: shoppers must type the numbers from a small image before sending. Turn it on if you get spam.
- Gap, padding, and Custom CSS.
Blocks
The section holds up to 7 blocks:
- Contact form: the form itself, once per page. Set Button text, Button style (Primary or Secondary), and Gap between fields.
- Text (up to 3): a heading or a few words, for example your opening hours.
- Divider (up to 2) and Group (up to 2). A group can hold the form, so you can put text on one side and the form on the other.
Group, text, and divider settings are in Group, Text, Button, and Divider blocks: how do the layout component settings work?
What a new contact page has
A new contact page starts with a heading, a short divider, the contact form with a Send Message button, and Captcha turned on. Change the words to your own, and set your Email before you publish.
Common tasks
- Test the form: open your live contact page, send yourself a message, and check that it arrives in the inbox you set.
- Text beside the form: set Direction to Horizontal, or put a Text block and the Contact form in a horizontal Group.
- Show your phone number too: add it in a Text block above the form.
Troubleshooting
- No messages arrive: check that Email is filled in and correct in this market, then publish. Also look in your spam folder.
- The form did not send: with Captcha on, a wrong code stops the message. A visitor can also only send a few messages in a short time.
