Choosing and installing a theme

Browse the theme gallery, preview themes on your live store, publish a new theme, and jump into the builder to customize it.

What a theme controls

A theme provides the visual decoration layer of your storefront: colors, border styles, shadows, corner radii, and typography rendering. The structural layout (positioning, spacing, and animations) is shared across all themes and does not change when you switch. Switching themes changes how your store looks without affecting the content or sections you have already configured.

Go to Themes in the main navigation. The page opens with a live preview of your currently active theme at the top, showing both a desktop and a mobile view of your actual store. Below the preview is the full theme grid.

Your active theme

The currently published theme is shown at the top of the page with a green Published badge. A Customize button takes you directly into the builder so you can edit sections and global settings while the theme is live.

Browsing available themes

The theme grid shows all available themes as cards. Each card shows a preview image, the theme name, and the author. Themes fall into two categories:

  • Free themes: no payment required. A Publish button is shown immediately.
  • Paid themes: require a one-time purchase. A Buy button (showing the price) is shown. Once purchased, it changes to a Publish button.

Installing (publishing) a theme

  1. Find the theme you want in the grid.
  2. If it is free, or if you have already purchased it, click the Publish button on its card.
  3. The theme is applied to your live store immediately. Your sections, blocks, and content are preserved, and only the visual decoration changes.
  4. The previously active theme loses its Published badge and gains a Publish button so you can switch back at any time.

After installing a theme

Click Customize on the active theme card (or go directly to the builder) to adjust your color schemes, typography, section styles, and branding to match the new theme's aesthetic. A new theme may use different default colors, so visit Colors, fonts, and branding to update your global color schemes.

Switching back to a previous theme

Every theme you have previously used, free or purchased, shows a Publish button. Click it to restore that theme instantly. No data is lost when switching themes.

What to check after a theme switch

  • Open the builder and preview the home page on both desktop and mobile.
  • Check that your color schemes still look correct, since some themes render the same colors with different shadow intensity or border styles.
  • Verify your logo is readable against the new header background color.
  • Click through to the product page, checkout page, and footer to confirm every section renders correctly.
