The import tool copies one product into your store from another Storeep store linked to your account, from a Shopify store, or from AliExpress. You paste the product link and Storeep finds the source by itself. Every imported product is created as a physical product and is unpublished, so you can check it before customers see it.
How to import a product
- Go to Products.
- Click Add new product, then Import product.
- Paste the product link in Product URL.
- Click Import and wait while the images are downloaded.
When it is done, you are taken to the product so you can finish it. To import several products, repeat this for each link.
From another Storeep store
- You must be a member of the source store (the owner or a staff member). Otherwise you see "You can only import from Storeep stores linked to your account".
- Paste the product page link, the one with /products/ in it.
- To copy a product inside the same store, use Duplicate on the products list. Importing it shows "This product is already in this store, use duplicate instead".
- Only physical products can be copied. Digital products are not supported.
- Almost everything is copied: images, description, variants, prices, stock, SKU, barcode, weight, offer quantities, order limits, discount end date, SEO texts, and the hide, landing page, taxable and search engine settings.
- Only your primary market gets the product, with the source store's prices. Check the prices if the two stores use different currencies, then add other markets.
From Shopify
- Paste the product link, from a myshopify.com address or the shop's own domain, with /products/ in it.
- Shopify options (Color, Size) become Text variants.
- When a variant is on sale, the Shopify compare-at price becomes your Price and the sale price becomes your Discounted price.
- If the shop is password protected or blocks access, you see "Unable to access this product. The store may have disabled public access."
From AliExpress
- Paste the product link from any AliExpress site.
- Color options are imported with their color when AliExpress gives one. Other options become text variants.
- The sale price becomes the Discounted price only when it is lower than the normal price.
- If you see "Unable to access this product page" or "Unable to extract product data from AliExpress", try again later or add the product by hand.
What to check after a Shopify or AliExpress import
- Prices: the numbers are copied as they are, without currency conversion. Set your own selling price in your store currency.
- Stock, SKU, barcode, and weight are empty. Fill them in if you need them.
- Up to 10 images are imported. Very large images are skipped.
- The Maximum quantity per order is set to 3 and search engine visibility is on. Change them if needed.
- Very long descriptions may be shortened. Read the description and remove text you do not want.
For every import
- The product is unpublished. Turn on Publish when it is ready.
- Only your primary market sells it. Add more markets in the Markets tab.
- The product gets a unique link based on its name. Change it in the Search engine optimization tab.
- If no image can be downloaded, the import stops with "Failed to import product images" or "No product images found", because a product needs at least one image.
- Any other link shows "Only Storeep, Shopify, and AliExpress product URLs are supported".
