Running actions with the AI assistant
Besides editing your store, the AI assistant (named Amed) inside the builder can run a small set of builder actions for you when you ask explicitly. For what Amed edits and how billing works, see Building with AI. Amed only runs an action when you clearly ask for it, never on a greeting or a vague message.
Save and publish
Add "and save" or "and publish" to any request and Amed applies your changes and pushes them live in one step, for example: "Make the header dark and publish". The words save and publish mean the same thing here. Amed confirms in its reply only when it has actually run the save, so a confirmation that says "saved" or "published" means your changes are live.
Undo and redo
Ask Amed to undo or redo edits: "Undo the last change", "Undo the last 3 changes", or "Redo that". These do the same thing as the Undo and Redo buttons in the top bar (or Ctrl/Cmd+Z and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z). Undo and redo history is scoped to the current market and page combination, so switching market or page gives you a separate history stack.
Apply a section to all pages
You can push a top-level section (header, footer, or announcement bar) to every other page at once: "Apply this header to all pages" or "Copy the footer to every page". Amed overwrites that section on every other page that already has it; pages without it are skipped. You can combine this with an edit, for example "Make the header dark and apply to all pages", and the new look is what gets pushed.
- This action is destructive and cannot be undone, so Amed warns you in the same reply.
- It works only on top-level sections that exist on your current page, never on nested blocks or global settings.
- If the section is not on the current page, Amed asks you to switch to a page that has it.
Export and clone markets
Ask Amed to export the active market as a backup: "Export this market". It downloads a .st bundle containing every page, the global settings, and the active theme for that market. The file is obfuscated, so only the Storeep importer can read it back.
You can also clone another market's full content into the active market: "Clone the US market into this one". Cloning overwrites every page and the global settings of the active market with the source market's data. The theme is store-wide, so it stays the same. Amed warns you before running this and will refuse to clone a market into itself.
- Name the source market in plain words ("from France", "the US market"). If Amed cannot find a market by that name, it lists the markets you actually have.
- Importing a backup is not a runnable action. Because importing needs you to pick a file from your device, Amed walks you through the file picker instead. Importing overwrites the target market, and if the bundle's theme is missing in your store the import is rejected and nothing changes.
- On the iOS app, exports cannot download files inside the app's webview. Amed will ask you to open the builder in a browser on a computer to run the export.
Inspector mode
Ask Amed to turn on Inspector mode so you can click sections in the live preview to jump to them: "Turn on inspector mode" or "Let me click a section". This is a toggle, not a switch with a fixed state, so asking again turns it back off. It does the same thing as the Inspector cursor button in the top bar.
Combining actions with edits
Only save and apply to all pages combine with edits in the same message. Export, clone, undo, redo, and Inspector run on their own without changes. You can chain an edit, an apply-to-all, and a save together, for example "Make the header dark and apply to all pages and save", and Amed runs them in that order: edit first, then push to all pages, then publish.
