What the low stock line does

The low stock line is a short message under the price in your order form, for example Only 3 left in stock. It tells buyers an item is running out, which can help them decide faster. The number is always your real stock, never a made up number.

Where to find it

  1. Open the builder and go to the Product page or the Landing page.
  2. Select the Form block inside the Product info or Landing info section.
  3. Find the Low stock group.
  • Low stock: the switch that turns the line on or off. It is on by default.
  • Low stock text: the message. Write {count} where the number should go. The default is Only {count} left in stock. If you remove {count}, the line shows your text without a number. If the text is empty, no line shows.

Click Publish to save. Each form keeps its own setting, so you can show the line on one page and not on another.

When the line shows

The line only shows when all of these are true for the option the buyer has picked:

  • The option has an Available quantity (its stock is tracked).
  • The option has a Minimum quantity to alert.
  • The stock left is at or below that alert number, and above 0.

You set both numbers on the product, for each option or variant combination. See inventory and stock alerts.

For example, with an available quantity of 20 and a minimum quantity to alert of 5, the line stays hidden at first. After some orders, when only 5 are left, buyers see Only 5 left in stock. When 2 are left, it says Only 2 left in stock.

When it does not show

  • The option has unlimited stock (no available quantity).
  • The option has no minimum quantity to alert.
  • The stock is above the alert number.
  • The option is out of stock. It shows as out of stock instead.

Variants

The line follows the option the buyer picks. If they switch to another size or color, the line updates, or disappears if that option is not low. This means a buyer can see Only 2 left in stock on one size and nothing on another.

Where it sits

The line shows right under the price. If the product has a discount countdown showing, the line sits under the countdown, so the price and the timer stay together.
